Program Initiatives

• Public information programs to further the efforts of the local health clinic in designing and promoting an effective public safety and health awareness campaign

• Emergency planning to develop a comprehensive evacuation plan for citizens who could potentially be affected by flooding

• Communications system research to discover a more reliable and effective means of communication than mobile phone service between neighbors, communities, districts, and islands

• Development of a response plan so that residents and visitors can receive help quickly and efficiently in the event of an emergency

• Daily maintenance of costly emergency vehicles and the EOC building

• Training of volunteers and staff in EOC operations and emergency response
